Description of the Swedish Institute scholarship:
Scholarships at the Swedish Institute are awarded to students from selected countries for full-time master’s level studies in Sweden starting in the autumn semester of 2018.

An estimated 180 scholarships will be available.
Students from eligible countries will:
Category 1: Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Ethiopia, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Mozambique, Myanmar (Burma), Rwanda, Southern Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
Category II: Brazil, Colombia, Egypt, Ghana, Indonesia, Iran, Vietnam
Category 3: Candidates with nationalities from countries on the DAC list of ODA recipients other than the above-mentioned countries and countries included in other scholarship programs
Special Initiative: South Africa
Benefits of the scholarship / entries / duration:
The scholarships cover tuition and living costs of SEK 9,000 per month and insurance and a one-time travel grant of SEK 15 000 (only to UNDAF grantees from official development assistance beneficiaries). There are no additional family members.
These scholarships are intended for full-time master’s programs for one or two years, and are only awarded to programs starting in the fall. Scholarships are awarded for one academic year (two semesters) each time. The programs will be extended longer than two semesters, provided that the student has passed his / her courses / credits.
Applicants must be from a qualified country and have at least 3,000 hours of full-time / part-time work experience, volunteer work, paid / unpaid training, and / or trust position. The leadership experience must be demonstrated from work, volunteer work, and / or post-secondary training.
There should be a need to pay university tuition fees, admission steps have been followed at the university, and will be accepted into one of the qualifying Masters programs by 6 April 2018.
